Cleaning and maintenance

Ceramica GLOBO products are crafted from the highest quality materials, designed to ensure maximum strength and durability over time. To preserve the brilliance, finishes, and beauty of the surfaces unchanged, we have developed a series of simple, practical guidelines.

The effectiveness and gentleness of these recommendations stem from rigorous laboratory tests performed on our surfaces, designed to guide you in the daily care of your bathroom space.

Shiny white ceramic

Shiny white ceramic

To maintain the brilliance and purity of shiny white ceramic surfaces over time, it is recommended to use warm water along with specific detergents for daily ceramic cleaning.

  • It is recommended to dry thoroughly with a microfiber cloth to prevent formation of halos or patches of limestone, in particular in areas in frequent contact with water.

  • It is not recommended the use of abrasive detergents, products alcohol-based or with strongly acidic components or basic, as well as nitrous solvents or acetone, which could damage the finish and alter the original brilliance.

Ceramic (colours and finishes)

Ceramic (colours and finishes)

To preserve the brilliance and color uniformity of colored surfaces over time, a daily cleaning with a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. This simple care allows you to maintain the original appearance of the ceramic and finishes unchanged, avoiding the accumulation of residues or opacities.

  • It is preferable to use mild, neutral detergents or specific for ceramic surfaces, applied with light movements and rinsed with clean water.

  • Avoid using abrasive powders, metal sponges or steam cleaners, which could compromise the surface or alter the color tone.

Seat-covers

Seat-covers

To preserve long-term quality and gloss, clean seats using only soft cloths or sponges with mild soap and water.

Leaving acidic substances (particularly hydrochloric and sulfuric acids) unrinsed can harm the toilet seat’s metallic parts, including hinges and fixing posts.

  • It is recommended to use only detergents neutral and delicate. In case of cleaning products of the prolonged effect ceramic, prevent them from entering in contact with the pot cover and its metal parts.

  • Avoid keeping the ring and lid down during the use of anti-limescale products: vapors can alter the brilliance and color, especially in colorful seats, more sensitive to color variations.

Easy detach

Easy detach

The quick release hinge system allows you to easily remove the seat for a more thorough and complete cleaning. By pulling the seat upwards, it disengages from the studs without the need for tools. To reassemble it, simply reposition the two hinges on the studs and push them down until they are completely locked.

The hinges are made of European-made stainless steel (AISI 304). Incorrect cleaning or contact with vapours containing hydrochloric or sulphuric acid can compromise the surface gloss, causing redness or oxidation: this is a purely aesthetic effect, which does not compromise the structural solidity of the material.

Steel (powder-coated)

Steel (powder-coated)

Powder coated steel surfaces are durable and long-lasting, but they require regular, gentle cleaning to maintain their shine over time. It is recommended to use pure water, possibly with a small amount of synthetic detergent at neutral pH, applied with a soft cloth.

  • Only use soft, fiber-free cloths, sponges, suede, or soft-bristled brushes, performing gentle movements.

  • Avoid rubbing vigorously or using abrasive products that could dull or damage the coat. Prevent standing water.

Steel (chrome)

Steel (chrome)

Chromed steel surfaces are characterized by their high gloss and must be cleaned regularly to preserve their appearance. The use of specific chrome cleaning products, readily available commercially, or a soft cloth slightly moistened with water and diluted alcohol is recommended.

  • It is recommended to dry the surface well to avoid stains or streaks.

  • Do not use abrasive sponges, cleaning powders, or acidic substances that can scratch or dull the finish.

MDF

MDF

MDF surfaces require gentle cleaning to preserve the finish and integrity of the material.

  • For thorough cleaning, use a soft cloth moistened with a small amount of neutral, non-abrasive detergent, not containing ammonia and vinegar (e.g. mild degreaser). Rinse with a clean, damp cloth and dry with a soft, dry cloth.

  • Avoid using aggressive products or excess water, which could penetrate the material and damage it.

Thermostructured melamine

Thermostructured melamine

Thermostructured melamine surfaces are durable and easy to keep clean with simple adjustments.

  • Use normal household hygiene products. Apply the detergent on a damp soft cloth, clean, then rinse.

  • Avoid abrasive products, bleach or strongly chlorinated substances, strong acids and bases, very abrasive sponges that can polish the surface.

TekorStone® (shower trays)

TekorStone® (shower trays)

TekorStone® surfaces are durable and easy to keep clean, but require proper maintenance to preserve their shine over time. After each use, it is recommended to rinse the surface thoroughly.

  • Use soap and water or common neutral detergents to remove most stains and dirt that may settle.

  • Avoid aggressive chemicals such as acetone, trichloroethylene, strong acids and bases, cosmetics and dyes, in prolonged contact with the material can release colorants onto the surface.

Livingtec® (bathtubs)

Livingtec® (bathtubs)

Livingtec® is a compact and durable material, which retains its original appearance over time with constant and thorough cleaning.

  • For daily maintenance, use a liquid limescale cleaner (e.g. Viakal®, Ajax®, Cif®) and a soft sponge. In case of halos due to calcareous water, they can be removed with a slightly abrasive sponge, wetted with water or detergent.

  • For stubborn stains, light chips, or deep scratches, gentle sanding with 400–600 grit sandpaper is recommended, followed by thorough rinsing and drying with the soft part of the sponge.

Solid Surface® (bathtubs)

Solid Surface® (bathtubs)

Solid Surface® bathtubs are easily cleaned thanks to the strength of the material, but it is important to use appropriate products.

  • Suitable products: cream or powder detergents such as Cif®, Vim® or the like with light abrasive micro-granules; denatured ethyl alcohol can be used, taking care to rinse well.

  • Unsuitable products: solvents such as acetone or trichloroethylene, strong acids (muriatic acid) or strong bases (caustic soda), drain cleaners or industrial solvents. If in doubt, always test the product in a barely visible area before full application.

Tekor® / Tekorlight® (bathtubs)

Tekor® / Tekorlight® (bathtubs)

Tekor® and Tekorlight® surfaces are durable and easily restorable.

  • For daily cleaning, use a powdered detergent (e.g. Vim®, Calinda®, Ajax®) with a Scotch-Brite® type abrasive sponge or a chlorine or bleach based cleaner. To remove limescale stains, periodic use of limescale removers is recommended.

  • To maintain the original opaque appearance, clean occasionally with Amuchina® or a diluted bleach solution (1 part in 20 of water). To revive the satin or opalescent finish, occasionally pass a Scotch-Brite® sponge in circular motions.

Simple Fiber (bathtubs)

Simple Fiber (bathtubs)

Simple Fiber bathtubs should be cleaned with warm water and soap or neutral detergents, applied with a soft cloth.

  • Suitable products: neutral liquid detergents can be used for normal surface cleaning. You are advised to apply the product with a soft cloth, rinsing carefully with water.

  • Unsuitable products: never use abrasive products or substances with an alcohol, acetone or other solvent base. Never use sponges with a metal or abrasive mesh.
